Cats

Okay so in in my last post one of my random facts was that I have three cats. I thought I would tell you the short story of the way we got them and their names and stuff. So about a year and  a half ago (October of 09)? A stray cat came into our yard. Btw, the last pet we had had before this was a dog when I was about 3. Anyways, it came into our yard and it was very friendly and not scared and timid like most cats. We played with it for a while and then left for soccer not expecting it to still be there. It was so we descided we would give her some food. We wern't sure if it was a boy of a girl, but we named it slinky because when you picked her up she felt like a slinky, and that name worked for either sex. We found out she was a girl, and slowly, she  just became a part of our family. About a year ago we went on vaction, and when we got back there were five little surprizes waiting for us. She had Kittens! We didn't even know she was pregnant, (we had guessed, but didn't really know). There were five kittens, three girls and two boys. We originally  named them cocoa, pinky, princess, rambo, and Tom Tom. We found  homes for the three girls thank goodness, because if we would'nt have we woul have had to get rid of them. Pinky (renamed puddles) went to our art teachers house, Mrs. Lisa. Princess and Rambo (renamed Ruby and ariel) were given to my best friend Leah. We had'nt found homes for the males yet. We hve decided to keep them =) Tom Tom  was renamed to spanky because he likes to get into trouble. I added marie to the end because I thought it sounded funny, Spanky Marie. Coco has aways been coco, but sometimes I call him Coco Chanel to give him more of a classier name. Now I love all three of my kitties, Slinky,  Coco, and Spanky. (btw slinky was spayed so that she wouldn't give us any more surprizes). I love them to death!

Speak Now

So I just downloaded the whole Speak Now album by Taylor Swift. The songs are so pretty, and very meaningful. I also came across her prologue, which is very inspiring and thoughtful, it sounds like poetry. Just thought I would share it with you.

"Speak now or forever hold your peace, the words said by preachers at the end of wedding cermonies all over the world, right before the vows. It's a last chance for protest, a moment that makes everyone's heart race, and a moment I've always been strangely fascinated by. So many fantasize about bursting into a church, saying what they'd kept inside for years like in the movies.  In real life, it rarely happens.

Real life is a funny thing, you know. In real life, saying the right thing at the right moment is beyond crucial. So crucial, in fact that most of us start to hesitate, for fear of saying th wrong thing at the wrong time. But lately what I've begun to fear more than that is letting the moment pass without saying anything.

I think most of us fear reaching the end or our life, and looking back regretting the moments we didn't speak up. When we didn't say "I love you," When we should've said "I'm sorry." When we didn't stand up for ourselves or someone who needed help.

These songs are made up of words I didn't say when the moment was right in front of me. These songs are open letters. Each is written with a specific person in mind, telling them what I meant to tell them in person. To the beautiful boy whose heart I broke in December. To my first love who I never thought would be my first heartbreak. To my band. To a mean man I used to be afraid of. To someone who made my world very dark for a while. To a girl who stole something of mine. To somone I forgive for what he said in front of the whole world.

Words can break someone into a million pieces, but they can also put them back together. I hope you use yours for good, because the words you'll regret more than the ones left unsaid are the ones you use to intentionally hurt someone.

What you say might be too much for some people. Maybe it will come out all wrong and you'll stutter and you'll walk away embarrassed, wincing as you play it back in your head. But I hink the words you stop yourself from saying are the ones that will haunt you the longest.

So say it to them. Or say it to yourself in the mirror. Say it in a letter you'll never send or in a book millions might read someday. I think you deserve to look back on your life without a chorus or resounding voices saying "I could've, but it's too late now."

There is a time for silence. There is a time for waiting your turn. But if you know how you feel, and you so clearly know what you need to say, you'll know it.

I don't  think you should wait. I Think you should speak now.
Love, Taylor.

Ps.To all the boys who inspired this album, you should've known. ;) "

Happy Birthday!

I forgot to mention that today is my mom's 43rd Birthday! Happy Birthday Mom. Don't be mad at me for saying your age...... haha ~Katy

Everyday is a new day

I am blogging again, can you say new addiction? LOL. As the organized perfectionist that I am, I like having a new start, whether it's in school, in work, on YouTube, or with friends.  I hate that sound in the back of your head telling you that you left something unfinished. I like fixing problems, and "completing" something gives me a lot of satisfaction. When someone is going through tough times, it bothers me that I can't do any thing to help them, or their situation. Though it bothers me when something is not completed, sometimes laziness over takes that feeling, especially when it comes to school. I procrastinate like you wouldn't believe! Sometimes it is just because I don't feel like doing it, and sometimes it's because  I would rather start fresh the next day, week, or month. I think that the first step to fixing a problem, is recognizing it, and deciding what your going to do about  it. I am slowly learning that life can't be perfect, and that EVERYONE has their problems from time to time.  Instead of me trying to fix them, I should just pray and let the problem work it's self out. As I have gotten older and have had more resposibilitys, I've learned that it doesn't matter if I get a perfect grade, or if everything is perfect. What matters is if I try my best, work hard, and  have a good outlook on life. Just wanted to give you an insight into my thinking on things. Love Always, ~Katy
